Sea Of Green: how to grow cannabis with this technique

Sea Of Green: come coltivare la cannabis con questa tecnica

The method sea of green, also called SOG, is a cultivation technique of cannabis that allows you to obtain excellent indoor results by aiming to grow as many buds as possible on a single plant. The method in fact involves shortening, in the ways we will see, the duration of the growth phase of the hemp, in order to obtain from cannabis seeds smaller plants but richer in buds.

SOG meaning

SOG is an acronym of the English sea of green and the term is in fact very suggestive. With SOG cultivation, those who have a grow box or a room dedicated to hemp can will see it fill up with peaks, like a green sea. These peaks will be of superior quality compared to those obtained with normal techniques and also the cultivation process will be optimized. So the benefits of SOG are:

  • Best peaks: the plant will concentrate all its energy on the flower.
  • Optimized space: every inch of space, or almost, will be made up of buds. Using this method, you can insert 15 to 25 plants per square meter.

SOG Technique Autoflowering

SOG is a technique that requires a certain amount of experience. The point in fact is to artfully shorten the vegetative phase of cannabis seedlings and this can be done if you have mastery with the use of light, the time to dedicate and the appropriate tools.

Here are the steps of growing with the SOG technique:

  1. Plant cannabis clones (cuttings) or feminized seeds in small containers. Place the plants closely together, maintaining a distance of about 15-30 cm between them. The goal is to achieve even coverage of hair throughout your room.
  2. It starts with a light cycle of 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness. This stimulates rapid vegetative growth.
  3. When the seedlings reach a height of 25-30 cm, change the light setting: from now on 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness. This will induce flowering.
  4. Make sure you always give the plants a uniform light And thin them out lateral and low branches to concentrate energy on the upper part, the one most exposed to light.
  5. Use specific fertilizers for the flowering phase, with a high content of phosphorus and potassium.
  6. Monitor carefully humidity and temperature. Humidity should be kept around 40-50% during flowering. Make sure the room has a high air exchange and that the temperature is constant.
  7. As soon as you realize that the trichomes are ripe from the classic amber or milky white color, it will be harvest time.

SOG: an “exclusive” technique

SOG, as you can see, is a technique that It doesn't speed up the times much: the idea is not to have a lot of cannabis to dry in the shortest time possible, but rather make the most of the available space And concentrate all the vegetative energy of the plant in the places where it is better bathed by light. In this way the buds will be healthier and higher in quality.

SOG is in a certain sense a training method that excludes the others, so focus on thinning out the “useless” branches and avoid tying or other training techniques.
