what is bho?
The bho, or butane hash oil, is a type of hashish of new invention, revolutionary and controversial for the method with which it is extracted. It is not known exactly who invented Bho, but in recent years more and more enthusiasts are becoming curious, even in Italy. Cannabis is treated with butane, a non-polar solvent that dissolves only and exclusively the trichomes, i.e. the resinous parts rich in THC. In simple terms, when the dissolved mixture is collected, it is pure resin very rich in active ingredients, even up to 90%, and without plant residues as in traditional methods for making hash.
Butane can be dangerous, but theoretically it should evaporate completely if the process is done carefully. However, the fear is legitimate among those who want to try this new method, especially if they intend to do it at home: no one wants to see their house explode while preparing some hash!
How to extract bho drug
It takes about 30g of cannabis to extract 24 grams of BHO. The leaves and less noble parts are also fine, as long as it is quality grass. You also need 300ml of butane. Finally, you need the so-called extraction tube together with a baking dish or pan.
- Insert cannabis into the tube extraction, pressing well to limit the formation of air bubbles.
- Turn the lower end of the extraction tube towards the previously prepared baking dish or pan. Remember that during the extraction process the temperature will drop significantly, so the materials of your baking dish or pan must be able to withstand the temperature changes.
- Inject the butane at the upper end of the extraction tube. The gas, after passing through the obstacle of the cannabis, will flow after a few seconds from the lower end of the tube.
- When you have finished injecting all the butane wait patiently that the dissolved resin drips onto the baking tray.
- Little by little the resin, golden brown in color, will be poured into the baking dish. It's time to let the butane evaporate, so give it time. The liquid will slowly thicken giving you your raw bho.
The risks of butane
Butane is a gas that is not dangerous for the product final (as it evaporates completely from the hash) but can be risky in other ways. Butane is in fact a highly flammable gas: a tiny spark is enough to cause an explosion and there are many stories of people who, in order to make bho, found themselves with a fire to put out in their house. butane to use must be of good quality (Better n-butane of simple butane), as well as the extractor. In addition, the room must be well ventilated and “safe”.We recommend using gloves and a mask at every stage of the process.
Is it worth the trouble?
The quality of bho depends entirely on the quality of marijuana at your disposal and has the advantage of being able to be extracted even from waste. It is worth it if you have an excellent raw material and especially if the environment in which you work is safe beyond any reasonable doubt.
