Marijuana vaporizers have been on the market for a few years now, yet they are still relatively little known. So let's find out what they are and how they work.
What is a weed vaporizer and how does it work

Unlike the classic “joint”, the herb vaporizer works in a similar way to the much more well-known electronic cigarettes or tobacco heaters. The principle consists of heating the dried herb not to the point of burning it, but only to the degree of heat necessary to evaporate the active ingredient (in our case CBD). There are also real CBD e-cigarette liquids on the market, but this is not what we are talking about when we refer to the vaporization of cannabis: the real vaporizers, the best and most loved, in fact use real herb, exactly the same one that is normally smoked.
The reason why more and more people choose to vaporize their weed instead of burning it is twofold: on the one hand, you can enjoy a “pure” vapor that gives off the true aroma of cannabis without any unrelated flavors (such as tobacco, burnt paper, etc.); on the other hand, since it is well known how combustion increases the risk of lung disease, those who choose the vaporizer gain health points.
Cannabis vaporizers are basically divided into two families: conduction and convection. The difference lies mainly in the position of the heating element in relation to the cannabis to be inhaled: in conduction devices the heating principle is in contact with the herb, while in convection devices the vaporization is more indirect. Convection is the most used and most modern technology, but there are also hybrid vaporizers.
While conduction vaporizers cost less and activate faster, convection vaporizers retain the best flavor and minimize the risk of overheating your cannabis.
Herbs are usually vaporized between 180 and 190 degrees, and at these temperatures they give similar effects to those of the classic "joint", according to some even more. One of the advantages of using vaporizers is that 100% of the herb inserted into the device is completely used, without any waste.
There are many vaporizer models available, from the lightest “portable” ones to the most powerful “tabletop” devices. The choices are endless in terms of power, battery life, range of features… but how much should we plan to spend to start vaporizing cannabis?
There are good “entry level” vaporizers even under 100 euros, which are very similar to electronic cigarettes and also have the advantage of being light and easy to handle. Even for the most advanced models it is difficult to exceed 200 euros.
While the advantages of vaporizing are countless, going digital requires taking into account the need to take care of an instrument, keeping it clean and remembering to always keep the battery charged (or better yet, buying a spare one to be able to “vape” at any time).
