Among the most popular methods of extracting hash from marijuana buds we find the dry method, or dry sift, which involves passing the plant material through a series of sieves or otherwise manipulating it without the use of chemicals to isolate the trichomes and create hash.

But how to do it well? dry sift or drytech hash without making mistakes? We will see in this article.

Dry hash traditional types

The types of dry extracted hashish are usually the traditional processes of the countries where these preparations originate. Let's see the main types:

• Moroccan Hashish: one of the most famous types of hash in the world, this is produced by passing dried cannabis through several sieves, often with the help of mechanical devices. The collected kief is then pressed into blocks. This hashish is known for its elastic consistency and its pungent aroma, the color ranges from light brown to black.
• Afghan Hashish: Afghan hash is traditionally produced using the dry sift method, followed by compressing the kief into solid blocks. This hash has a smooth, sticky consistency, often characterized by a dark color and an earthy aroma.
• Lebanese Hashish: Lebanese hash is made by sifting dried cannabis and then curing the kief for several months. After curing, the kief is pressed into blocks. This hash can have a drier consistency than other types of static hash.
• Charas: Charas is a type of hashish made by hand-rubbing fresh cannabis flowers. This manual process allows you to collect the trichomes that stick to your hands. Charas is typical of the regions of India and Nepal.

Modern version of dry hash, drysift: how to make it

The first step to easily and chemical-free obtain good kief that will then become dry sift is to get some cannabis buds  good quality: check out ours feminized seed collection if you are interested in discovering the best genetics.

To make your dry hash you will then need a Dry Sift Screen, or a very tight nylon mesh with 150-38 micron holes. To complete the “kit” you will need a spatula, a funnel to collect the kief, a pollen press and a grinder large enough. You can build the necessary materials yourself or find them online.

The procedure is as follows:

• Grind the buds with the grinder
• Place the trim on the dry sift screen, which must be placed on a flat surface and assembled according to the instructions: the sieve with the largest mesh on top, the others below in decreasing order of size.
• Shake the dry sift screen horizontally and vertically and use the spatula to help get a greater quantity of material down.
• Repeat the operation until you get the collection tray, positioned at the end of the last sieve, the desired amount of trichomes.
• At this moment in the collection tray there will be the kief: to press it and turn it into hash you can collect it through a funnel and pass it through a pollen press.

how to get better drysift hash

The quality of the hash depends on the quality of the raw material used, so select good quality buds and in amount enough to produce at least one hash “coin”.

Remember that to obtain drysift more easily it is advisable put the tops in the freezer for at least 24 hours: this will facilitate the detachment of the trichomes and speed up the entire procedure.

Make sure you work in a suitable environment both in terms of temperature and humidity: the ideal is a room with at least 15 degrees of temperature and humidity below 50%. If you have a choice, your room is better than a basement or a kitchen.
